Rainy Days

There has been a lot of rain the past couple of days. Two storms came by and caused some flooding at the Carbon Canyon State Park.

Comparison

I decided to take the Sigma 28mm f1.8 out to Downtown Fullerton for some test shots. I had my reservations about this lens, however I found that it to be a very nice lens, sharp and good auto-focus. I attached this lens to the Canon 7D and with the crop sensor it is equivalent to 45mm. This is a basic heads up comparison with the Nikon 50mm 1.4 attached to a Nikon D700.

I knew that the D700 would beat out the 7D with noise levels and depth of field. This was not a test of which set up is better ( Hands down the Nikon 50mm and D700 combo wins that ). I wanted to see the 7D + Sigma 28mm f1.8 can come close to the Nikon 50mm f1.4 feel.

Gianna’s Christmas Session

I got to sneak Gianna into the studio for a quick one hour photo session. This was supposed to be for her Christmas pictures but she had other plans. She brought her Taekwondo Uniform and some kick ass skills with it ( no pun intended ) see for yourself.

The quick and durty!

I just finished with Lisa’s set and everyone has been asking me who she is and how I ended up working with this great team of Make Up, Hair, and Modeling Talent. Well to be honest Lisa made it happen. She contacted me and we got to talking about doing this and everything just fell into place.

LO – You have been a pin-up model for some time now. This set is very different style from what you have done in the past, What made you decide to work with me on this project?

LC – When I decided that I wanted to model I knew I wanted my portfolio to be diverse. I wanted people to see that I could mold into different looks and bring different things to the table. It was time for me to step up my game and just go for it and when I saw your work, I was fascinated and I knew you and I were going to create some great images. I’m very happy with the images.

LO – Thank you! I was glad I didn’t forget to put the Memory Card in the Camera =) All joking aside, I was very excited to see what Susy and Christina had in store your new look, how did you like the transformation?

LC – I was excited. It made me feel like a different person. It gave me more confidence. I felt like an actress almost, where I needed to get into character and act my part. It was amazing!

LO – What was the best part of the experience for you?

LC – Every time I shoot, it gives me more experience to learn, move, and pose. Working with Luda was great! It was fun because we were joking around and we were able to communicate well. I was relaxed and comfortable. It was amazing to work in a great setting as well.

LO – So now that you have seen the pictures, do you have a personal favorite?

LC – I definitely love all of them, but my most favorite ones are the ones with my flower in my hair and the ones in the boots. Absolutely loving those!!

LO – You are very easy to work with and the camera loves you, have you always been that comfortable with modeling or is it something you had work on?

LC – When I was younger I was very shy, but as I got older that faded away quickly. I found that I love entertaining people and being silly. When I first started modeling, I wasn’t as comfortable as I am now, it took me sometime, but now its almost natural.

LO – I am sure you get asked this one a lot, what is your ethnic background?

LC – Thai, Laotian, Hawaiian.

LO – I know you are a busy person with tons of personal projects, dance, school, and work. What do you have planned as far as modeling goes?

LC – I would love to have a regular gig someday, but I would absolutely love to appear in some Tattoo magazines and be on a cover someday. I want to work towards creating a name and face for myself, be known, not necessarily famous, but well known. LOL

LO – Thanks for the interview and I wish you all the best in your career. Any final words you want to share?

LC – It was a pleasure working with you and I hope we will continue shooting together. This was a great experience and now I have made a new friend! =) I definitely will recommend people to shoot with you. You are da shizzz!!!
